Why do People choose to Drink Natural Wine?

Natural wines are simply wines that have been produced without any use of chemicals, sugars, acid rectification or artificial yeasts. By drinking natural wine instead of normal wine, you are not putting these chemicals, additives etc. into your body, hence making the wine a healthier choice. ‘Natural wine’ has no specific definition to what exactly qualifies as ‘natural’, but it is generally regarded that those wines that use none or very little chemicals, sulphites etc. are considered as a natural wine.

To drink natural wine had previously been known to taste a little different, often considered to be a little more unpleasant than normal wine. This is why the perfect balance of taste, consistency and the natural ingredients is becoming worth more and more too wine makers and merchants. Nowadays, it is possible to get a great tasting natural wine at affordable prices, but as they are still being produced at a minority, they come at a slightly steeper price to the usual average wine you may find at a supermarket.

People are drinking natural wine for several reasons; with a main reason being the health benefit. Many people have problems drinking normal wine, as the additives and sulphites can cause allergic reactions to a person. This is why low sulphite, natural wines are becoming more and more popular within the wine industry. Often, natural wines are produced by small wineries that care about the consumer, rather than focusing all of their efforts on making the biggest profit they can. Consumers recognise this and appreciate what these small wineries do for wine lovers, so customers are happy to purchase their wine for this reason.
